Every year, APA host orientations for parents of students going on summer study abroad programs. The summer study abroad orientations include both general and program-specific meetings and cover such topics and payments, health and safety, insurance, packing, and risk managment. Parents will also have the chance to meet APA staff and the program directors and to ask questions. A schedule of orientations will be mailed to parents starting in January. Attendance is not mandatory, but we encourage any parents with questions about the programs to attend.

Directions to Campus
From the West:

1. Exit I-10 at Exit 155B (LA-30/Nicholson Dr/Highland Rd/LSU)
2. Keep Right
3. Turn Right onto SR-30 (Nicholson/Downtown)
4. Turn Left onto LA 30 (Nicholson)
5. Drive about 1.8 miles
6. Pass Tiger Stadium (on left)
7. Turn Left onto Nicholson Extension
8. Turn Left into Patrick F. Taylor Hall parking lot
   

From the East:

1. Exit I-10 at Exit 157B (Acadian Thruway)
2. Turn Left onto Acadian Thruway
3. Cross Perkins Road/LA-427
4. Acadian will turn into Stanford Ave.
5. You will pass red lights at Morning Glory, Hyacinth, and W. Lakeshore
6. Stanford will turn into LSU Ave.
7. Turn Right onto Highland Road
8. Turn Left onto Nicholson Extension
9. Turn Right into the Patrick F. Taylor Hall front parking lot

Parking: Since the parents’ orientations are on Saturdays, you will be able to park on campus without a visitor’s parking pass. Please plan to arrive early so that you can have ample time to find parking.
