Program Description The LSU in Thailand program takes you to study, travel, and experience Thailand, one of the most exciting countries to visit in the world. LSU in Thailand is a three-week international program designed to provide students an opportunity to learn abroad the issues involved in sustainable agricultural development as well as provide cultural and intellectual enrichment. This is the fourth year of this program!
Program Eligibility
This course is designed for undergraduate and graduate students in agriculture and renewable natural resources, although others may participate. The course is a six credit hour elective: 3 in horticulture and 3 in the individual student’s field of study. The student must contact his or her own department for clarification of elective acceptance. In addition, students may design independent study projects related to the varied focus and program locations. Approval for independent studies must be negotiated with faculty prior to departure.

Location(s) The Kingdom of Thailand! Students will appreciate the tradition of hospitality and friendliness from some of the most generous people in the world in the “Land of Smiles.” The class will begin in Bangkok, “the City of Angels,” then travel to other areas and attractions of the country including the charming northern city of Chiangmai, elephant riding, the Royal Project, and Hill Tribes in the north, the Floating Market in Ratchaburi, the orchards and coastal areas of Hua Hin and Petchaburi as well as the southeastern provinces of Rayong and Chanthaburi.

Scholarship
Students may apply for a $1,000 scholarship offered by the Office of Student Aid & Scholarships. The application will be available in January.
