Program Description
If you’ve ever wanted to experience the richness of Italian culture and its legendary lifestyle, LSU in Rome will give you that opportunity, as well as unique first-hand knowledge of the most fabled landmarks of western culture.
You can earn up to seven hours of course credit, and there is no requirement to learn or speak Italian in order to participate.

Advice from students who went last year: We asked the students on the 2011 program to tell us what advice they would have for future participants. Here's what they said:
On packing:
Get good walking shoes.
Don't forget to bring pens and paper for classes!
Pack light; plan to spend more money than you think
Bring dresses and cardigans! Bring an extra notebook and looseleaf paper
Pack light, study beforehand, and have fun!
Bring an extra bag for the way home.
Try to pack as little as possible. You will not need as many clothes as you would think. Bring comfortable shoes!
Pack light and expect heat
On travel:
Figure out the exchange rate ahead of time
Make copies of your passport.
Plan a dinner or some other event with some of the other students going on the trip; try to get to know some of the other students before you go
If you know where you want to go on your own, make reservations in advance for museums!
Call your credit card company before you leave and back up your Iphone before you go.
Application Deadline: April 15, 2012
Although the application deadline is April 15, you are advised to register early in order to secure a spot in the program. The program will fill on a first come, first served basis from those who meet the eligibility requirements. A $500 deposit will be placed on your LSU billing statement at the time that you apply to the program. Students at other universities must send in a check or money order (made payable to "Louisiana State University") for the $500 deposit along with their applications. This deposit is nonrefundable after January 31, 2012.
Withdrawal from the program may result in the loss of all or part of your deposit or total payment of the program fee, depending on the date of withdrawal.
