LSU in Estonia & Russia

Program Description
The objective of this program is to teach students as much as possible on location about Estonian and Russian history and culture. Language students will be able to learn and practice their Russian in real life situations under expert supervision and will be able to use it on their own.

Russian language students will have to interact with the local population by means of excursions, interviews, and conversation. Both places offer an opportunity for both Russian and non-Russian speakers to interact with the local population.

Apart from that, the excursions are all designed to form an integral part of the history classes. Both Tallinn and St. Petersburg offer a wealth of sites that are directly related to the course content of all three history courses and will be addressed accordingly. The entire group will be able to participate in excursions because there is a certain overlap in course content, but different courses will be able to do different things while on site.

History students will live the history of these vibrant cultures both inside, and especially, outside of the classroom. Excursions and walking tours will enhance the experience and allow participants to absorb the exciting past of Estonia and Russia. This program will provide a unique opportunity to contact the peoples, languages, and cultures of these fascinating places. Spend next summer in Estonia and Russia.
