Summer Programs Resources for Faculty

Instructions for Faculty Interested in Developing a Summer Program
Academic Programs Abroad is always looking for faculty to develop and lead new summer programs. Although termed "Summer Programs," these programs may be either in the summer or during intersession, international or national. Full-time faculty are encouraged, after seeking approval from their department heads, to develop, lead, or teach on a summer program.

Academic Programs Abroad's Directors' Handbook provides comprehensive information about developing and running a successful summer program. Faculty who desire to develop a program should first seek approval from their department heads, then download and fill out the appropriate proposal (see below). Faculty who desire to lead an existing program should also seek departmental approval, then fill out a new proposal for an existing program. Faculty who would like to teach a course on an existing summer program should contact Jill Clemmons (225-578-6814) in Academic Programs Abroad. Program proposals can be found on the Forms page of the Summer section of this website or can be accessed below. Jill Clemmons, Summer Programs Coordinator, will be happy to assist those faculty members who would like more information, have questions about the proposals, or want to see example proposals. Jill may be contacted by email (jclemm1@lsu.edu), by phone (225-578-6814), or in person (105 Hatcher Hall).

Proposals for 2010 programs were due by September 11, 2009. New proposals should be for 2011.
