Visit the Mendenhall Glacier, observe community succession below the terminal moraine. Gain understanding of the Native People groups in Alaska at the State Museum. Fish for salmon and dolly varden. Attend a Salmon Bake. Hike trails in the Juneau area.  Visit Skagway, the staging area for the Alaskan gold rush of 1896-1899. Observe Alaska’s rich fauna and flora. Investigate the salmon, halibut, and crab fisheries of Alaska. Study the ecological impact of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound. Study Alaska.

Students will live and take classes at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska.
