Experience one of Europe’s most magnifcent cities during LSU’s 35th annual summer school experience in England’s
great capital. This once-in-a-lifetime summer will include a weekend trip to a charming guest house in Stratford-upon-Avon where students will see Shakespeare’s birthplace, Trinity Church and the quaint, bustling town
of Stratford. Our London residency is packed with historic sites including the Tower of London, Parliament, the Globe Theatre, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and some of the world’s greatest museums. We will see a West End musical, 2 plays by Shakespeare (one at the historic Globe Theatre and one in Stratford-upon-Avon), and a dance performance. In addition, your free time will allow a chance to see other great cities of Europe or to experience additional world class theatre and dance in London’s unrivaled arts scene.
Students and faculty will live and study in exclusive Notting Hill in Pembridge Gardens Residence Hall just
steps away from shopping, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and Hyde Park, a London oasis.
If
you choose to participate in this program, you will live and have morning
classes in a residence hall located in the heart of London. The hall
has kitchens, which you may use to prepare modest meals, as well as
laundry facilities. Shopping areas (including restaurants, pubs, supermarkets,
department stores, and drugstores) are located nearby. A train station
and bus stops are also located near the residence hall.
