stepStep One: Attend an interest meeting. Interest meetings are held twice weekly at 106 Hatcher Hall. We provide information on costs, deadlines, the application process, sites, etc. These meetings last approximately 30 minutes. Check the calendar for advising meetings or click on the advising tab for more information.

stepStep Two: Meet with a college advisor to get a degree audit and determine, what, if any, waivers you might need. *Note: we will cover this in more detail at the interest meeting. You must meet with an advisor before you can get an application

stepStep Three: Begin researching schools that fit your academic and personal needs.

stepStep Four: Set up a one-on-one meeting with Rachel Daroca to confirm your choices and get an application. Check our website for specific deadlines. In general applications should be picked up no later than six months pror to departure date.

stepStep Five: Complete the application by the deadline, including the two professor recommendations. (These take a while to get so start talking to professors now about doing this for you.)

stepStep Six: Interview. When you turn in your bilateral application you will complete an interview. Look over the interview tips before you come for your interview so you are prepared.

stepStep Seven: Placement! Once you are placed you will begin receiving housing, meal plan and visa information. You will also begin applying for scholarships. Placement for fall and academic year generally happens in March and spring placement is announced in September.

stepStep Eight: Concurrent Enrollment. This process allows you to be enrolled at LSU while abroad, which maintains your PAWS account, allows your financial aid to transfer and pre-approves your courses.

stepStep Nine: Orientation- this helps to prepare for you culture shock and gives tips on money, LSU policies, flights, packing and more.

stepStep Ten: Go Abroad!
