National Student Exchange

"San Francisco isn't in the same country as Lakeside [Wisconsin] any more than New Orleans is in the same country as New York or Miami is in the same country as Minneapolis." —Neil Gaiman, American Gods

LSU is a member of the National Student Exchange, or NSE, a consortium of over 180 schools in the United States, her territories (Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico), and even Canada.

Students go on national exchanges for all types of reasons:
  • To take courses not available on their home campuses,
  • To enhance personal growth and independence,
  • To spend time in a different region,
  • To immerse themselves in diverse cultural settings,
  • To investigate graduate and professional schools,
  • To explore career options, and even
  • To prepare for international exchange!
